Nevada ORS Team Facilitates Partnership for Naloxone Distribution

After meeting the End Overdose CEO, Theo Krzywicki, at the 2024 Overdose Response Strategy (ORS) conference in Dallas, the Nevada ORS team recognized an opportunity to amplify local overdose prevention efforts by leveraging the organization’s proven model of training and naloxone distribution at large-scale events. End Overdose is a nonprofit organization that works to end drug-related overdose deaths through peer-led education, free naloxone distribution and public awareness campaigns.

Seeing the potential for collaboration, the Nevada ORS team facilitated an introduction between End Overdose and the Southern Nevada Health District (SNHD), Nevada’s ORS public health partner. This timely connection led to a groundbreaking collaboration: SNHD provided an unprecedented donation of 30,000 doses of naloxone for distribution at the Electric Daisy Carnival (EDC) 2025. By significantly increasing the availability of this lifesaving medication, the partnership directly enhanced festival safety and bolstered community overdose prevention efforts. Through strategic connections and collaborative leadership, the Nevada ORS team exemplified the essential role of the ORS program—uniting public health expertise and innovative community initiatives to proactively address and reduce overdose risks.
